are usually issued only limited employment related visas and it is difficult
for them to obtain long term residence.
According to officials,
those who will be granted green visas will be able to work without a company or
local sponsor and will also be able to sponsor their parents and children up to
the age of 25.
Remember, that before
parents could only sponsor their children up to the age of 18.
"Highly skilled
people, investors, businessmen, entrepreneurs as well as talented students and
postgraduates" will be among the green visa recipients.
In addition, the UAE is
easing the grace period for all those who have lost their jobs and now have 90
to 180 days instead of 30, to leave the country or find for a new job.
The UAE is also now
allowing the employment of temporary employees over the age of 15 years to meet
the needs of the job market.
