WORLD POPULATION WILL EXCEED EIGHT BILLION ON NOVEMBER 15, 2022
According to a UN report released on Monday, the
world's population will exceed eight billion on November 15, even though the
rate of population growth is at its lowest level in decades.
According to Reuters News Agency, India will overtake
China as the world's most populous country in 2023. The population of the two
countries separately has reached 1.4 billion this year.
A UN report warns that high population growth will
hurt economic growth. The report, released on the occasion of World Population
Day, estimates that the world's total population will reach 8 billion by
November 15 this year, compared to 8.5 billion in 2030 and 10.4 billion in 2100.
۔ The reason for this increase in population
is the decrease in the death rate.
According to the 2011 census, India's population was
1.21 billion. The 2021 census was postponed by the government due to the
Cove-19 epidemic.
UN estimates show that the world's population has
been growing at its slowest pace since 1950, dropping to less than 1% in 2020.
In 2021, the world's population grew at an average
rate of 2.3, down from about 5 per woman in 1950 to less than five children. By
2050, the population growth rate is expected to fall further to 2.1 percent.
United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres
said in a statement: "This is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity,
to recognize our shared humanity and to marvel at the progress that has been
made in the health sector that has led to aging and motherhood." And the
infant mortality rate has dropped dramatically.
Still, he added, the growing population is a reminder
of the shared responsibility to take care of the planet and "reflects
where we still feel short of our promises to each other."
Citing an earlier report by the World Health
Organization, which estimated 1.5 million deaths due to the CoVid-19 epidemic
between January 2020 and December 2021, the UN report said that the world at
birth expected life expectancy has dropped from 72.8 years in 2019 to 71 years
in 2021, mainly due to epidemics.
The United Nations says more than half of the
expected global population growth by 2050 will be in eight countries: India,
Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Tanzania.
By 2050, sub-Saharan Africa will account for more
than half of the expected growth. However, between 2022 and 2050, the
population of 61 countries is expected to decline by 1% or more, due to a
decline in family fertility.
According to the statistics, the population of men in
the world at present is three billion nine hundred and sixty-six million
forty-eight thousand, while the population of women is three billion nine
hundred and twenty-six million forty-seven thousand, thus the population of
women in the world is forty-four million thirty-seven. One hundred and seventy
thousand less.
