AN EXCITING NEW MONEY MAKING FEATURE ON TWITTER

Following the other big social media platforms (Google, Facebook), the micro blogging website Twitter has also recently introduced an interesting feature for its users (especially for content creators) through which celebrities can earn money on the platform.

As reported by AFP news agency, Twitter announced the 'Super Followers' feature on Wednesday September 1, 2021, saying that the content creators now have the option to charge their subscribers to access exclusive content.

This new feature from Twitter is a new opportunity for celebrities to make money.

Under this feature, influencers such as artists, sports experts, make-up artists, yoga or exercise instructors and other celebrities will offer exclusive content to users against the monthly fee ranging from 3 to 10 dollars per subscriber for access to the content.

Esther Crawford, Twitter's product manager, said in a blog post that with "Super Followers”, people while making money can create an additional level of interaction on the platform (they can share bonus Tweets and more) with their most engaged followers authentically.

He says that “Super Follower” is for all those who share their unique views and personalities on Twitter to keep in touch with the public.

Easter Crawford explained that these figures include journalists, writers, activists, astrology enthusiasts, gamers, musicians, beauty experts, comedians and others.

Twitter was testing the 'Super Follower' feature, which is intended for a limited group of North American content creators.

Global availability of this feature for iOS users will be in the next few weeks.

The product manager of Twitter says that this feature will also be offered to Google's Android software based smartphones and also for the users who use Twitter's website through the browser.

The company says it will charge up to 3% of the subscription fee from users who create content, but when creators earn up to 50,000 thousand dollars through subscriptions, they will be charged 20 percent instead of 3 percent.
