M.Phil. and Ph.D. Biotechnology at NIBGE

Introduction:

NIBGE is a Centre of Excellence for human resource development in the field of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. This institute is affiliated with Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) Islamabad for awarding M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. NIBGE (National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering) is also an affiliated Centre of ICGEB (International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology) Trieste - Italy. NIBGE (National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering) offers it’s platform to the students who are passionate about science & have self-confidence in enduring the challenges of highly demanding science of Biotechnology.

Application Procedure:

Submission of application will be online only. hard copies are not acceptable.
Go to http://www.pieas.edu.pk/ and click “Admission” tab
Open an account on the website & Login to start the submission of online application.
Fill in & submit online application form. [Please read the Instructions carefully].
Upload a passport size (recent) color photograph as per the defined standard.
Upload your academic documents.
Print a Bank Challan for Application Processing Fees.
Make a payment in nearest Askari Bank & upload scanned copy / image of deposited fees slip at PIEAS admission portal.
Print “Call Letter” (which will be made available after verification of fees through bank).
You will get Venue and date information in your call letter to appear for the test.
Regularly visit your profile on our website for any further update before and after your Entry Test.

Eligibility Criteria:

For M.Phil. Minimum qualification of 4 years BS/M.Sc. (16 years of education) with minimum CGPA 2.5 (out of 4) or equivalent.
Preferably first class academic career is required, however, one second division is acceptable, except in the final degree.
Candidates on the basis of 7th semester result and expecting completion of their degree requirement in September, 2022 can also apply.
For Ph.D. Minimum qualification of MS/M.Sc.(Hons)/M.Phil. degree (18 years of education) with minimum CGPA 3.0 (out of 4) or equivalent.
Degree Requirement for M.Phil. and Ph.D. Admission: Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Botany, MBBS, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Zoology, Genetics, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Agriculture (All majors/specializations), Animal Sciences (All majors/specializations, Food Technology (Nutrition, Food Sciences), Microgiology, Physiology, Pharmacy, Microbiology & Molecular Genetics.
Preferably first class academic career is required, however, one 2^nd division is allowed, except in the final degree.
Preference will be given to Higher Education Commission (HEC) scholarship holders.
candidates who are in-service can apply through proper channel.
Subject GRE / GAT-Subject test is mandatory for Ph.D. admission, as per Higher Education Commission requirements.
Ph.D. candidates may apply any time after qualifying subject GRE / GAT Subject test.
Candidates expecting completion of their degree requirement in Sep, 2022 may also apply.
